Career Highlights

I have many but I want to focus on the two most cherished.

I was presented with the first “Coach of The Year Award” in 2006 at Madawaska. It was quite an honour to be nominated and to share that nomination with some of the most prestigious coaches in Ontario.

While retired from this game, I was blessed to be asked to assist Kamal Nassar, head coach of the U15 team this past season. I had asked for a month to think about it and I took the full month. Eventually,  because I knew the type of person Kamal was-  I agreed to do so. We had our bumps in the road but the experience of coaching with Kamal was a great experience. We shared in all the decisions about the team and we utilized each other’s strengths. I have never experienced such a respectable and collaborative coaching relationship. We learned from each other and shared that with the girls. As a result I witnessed the most phenomenal volleyball I’ve seen in all my years of experience which resulted in the first National silver medal that a Blaze team has ever acquired. It wasn’t just the medal that was rewarding; it was having the opportunity to work with a talented team and a wonderful person and coach. The experience brought back the passion I feel for this sport. Thanks Kamal and girls

Coaching Philosophy

I enjoy encouraging and empowering athletes to recognize their strengths and to identify how to improve upon their weaknesses even when fear gets in the way………… and most importantly to have fun playing this game.
